Do I need to be able to paint?
No. There is no teacher in the room, no sample painting and nothing to copy. Most people arrive having not painted since school, and that is the point. Nobody expects you to be good at this.
What do I send before the night?
One line, or one image, of a dream, when you book. It goes up on the wall for the night, unnamed, among the things we have pinned.
What actually happens on the night?
Sixteen lengths of cloth hang around the room, each tagged with a number. You find yours and start anywhere on it. You paint whole-arm in six colours, and the floor is open too. It ends with everyone sitting on the painted floor.
How much is a place?
£65. Everything’s included; you take your length home that night.
What if I can’t come?
Full refund up to seven days before the evening, no questions asked.
Do I keep what I paint?
Yes. Your length comes down whole at the end, rolled painted side out, tied and tagged, and leaves with you that night. Nothing is posted. The floor stays with us, folded and kept as the record of the night.
What do I need to bring?
Nothing. Everything you need is at your length of cloth, and there is wine.
What time does it start and finish?
Doors are at 7:00pm, painting starts at 7:30pm, and the evening finishes by 9:45pm.
Where is it?
London. The exact address goes to seat holders the week before, along with the door details.
Who comes?
Sixteen women, one room. Most people come on their own, and it is first names only.
Can I come with a friend?
You can, but you will not be placed together. The lengths are numbered and given out on arrival, so you would be at opposite ends of the room. Most people come on their own.
How do I hear about new dates?
Join the list at the bottom of any page. Seats are released there first, and we only write when there is a date.
Can I book a private evening?
Yes. The room is yours for the night, for up to sixteen, from £1,400 with wine and materials included. Each guest takes her length home. Tell us your month and group size here.
